Wheels falling off Chelsea wagon?

Chelsea deservedly lost 2-0 at Anfield today courtesy of first half goals by Kuyt and Pennant, the margin could have been greater. Chelsea for their part barely tested the Liverpool goalkeeper throughout the ninety minutes. Ballack, Lampard and second half substitute Shevchenko were pretty much passengers throughout this game.

At present Chelsea look anything but champions and after the game at Anfield Jose Mourinho talked at length about his teams 'weakness'. For a club who have spent so much money in the transfer market over the last few seasons not many will have sympathy. Interestingly, the ever present Roman Abramovich wasn't in attendance at Anfield today, whether or not this has anything to do with his alleged fall-out with his coach is open to speculation.

On the evidence of today United have a real chance of lifting the title providing they hold their form and nerve and of course the Reds face Arsenal on Sunday with the Gunners looking to complete a double over the Red Devils.

Hopefully United will not slip-up as we have done when Chelsea have dropped points, but even a point will hugely important for United's season, a defeat wouldn't a total disaster but it would be another big missed opportunity for Fergie's side.
