According to the News of The World United are locked in a £32m battle with Inter Milan for the services of Argentine hit man Carlos Tévez aka the "New Maradona"... Rob Shepherd of the NOTW says that the Italian club are in pole position because they are willing to match the player's valuation. MSI's (Media Sports Investment) own the player, the story goes that David Gill has recently met with Kia Joorabchian who is the president of MSI to discuss a possible loan move for Tévez.
I think this story could have some legs as the Red Devils have splashed the cash this summer to the tune of up to £50m on up to three signings so far, so there wont be much if anything left for a new striker, but what it is worth my money is on Tévez joining either Inter or Real Madrid who are also reportedly interested in the race to sign the player.
United's only hope is that Tévez might like the idea of linking up with so many talented young players like Ronaldo, Rooney, Nani and Anderson.
