Rossi going going back to Parma?...

The latest news on the search for a striker continues to be the subject of media guessing games. Liverpool are thought to be in the box seat to capture Fernando Torres - who by the way is said to be a big Liverpool fan, but an Athletico Madrid spokeman has confirmed that there has been no offer from the Merseyside Reds.

One frankly laughable report in today's Daily Star claimed that the Spaniard's want the 'coathanger' AKA Peter Crouch, in part-exchange. Do not rule out Liverpool making their move for Torres once the future of the luckless Cisse is sorted out, the Anfield club have made it clear that they want hard cash for the Frenchman, so once that deal is finally put to bed expect Liverpool to make their move.

From a United perspective 'Boro are now supposedly leading the race to sign Alan Smith for £6.5m, however the player's agent has hinted that there's a few options on the table and nothing will be sorted until the player returns from holiday.

The future of Rossi will no doubt be thrashed out soon enough too, Parma are said to be ready to offer around £6m for the Italian-American.

Thiery Henry's transfer to Barca will no doubt spark a few moves around Europe. According to reports Anelka could be about to move to back to the Arsenal and if that happens Cisse could well then be signed by Bolton thus triggering the Torres transfer.

There's still a lot of business still to be done in the summer transfer window and the fun most certainly is not over. Watch this space.
