"Victory parade" announcement = kiss of death for United?

Manchester United supporters were denied the opportunity of welcoming home the team following last season's Champions League victory in Moscow - the decision by Manchester Council was nothing short of disgraceful. The good news is there will be a victory parade should United retain the trophy this time around. However, there will be some fans who will be slightly concerned that an announcement has been made when the club has yet to reach the final - it's not as if anyone has to make any concrete plans at this stage - how can you?

United fans might well recall Liverpool's 2007 victory parade bus, the one that was never actually used!
