Football has been largely sanitised in England due to the Taylor report that followed the Hillsbrough disaster, but the atmosphere in all-seater stadiums all too often leaves a lot to be desired and that is why I'd like to see a return to some standing areas in our big grounds.

ReplyDeleteYou obviously have not visited Oldham Athletic recently? I couldn’t help notice the stewards picking up the flares & kindly moving them never to the pitch than the fans could throw them in order to put them out. Nothing like a little smoke nearer to the pitch to add to the ambience.
