Manchester City preparing to launch plan C following failed takeover...

Following the news that Thaksin Shinawatra's bid to buy City has reportedly collapsed the Blues are now facing up to the grim reality of the situation, no manager, no pot to piss in, no takeover and having sold two of their best players recently Manchester City's current owners are preparing for the worst which translates to blowing the cobwebs off 'plan C'. Which will involve the current directors pumping yet much cash into the club.

As Alan Sugar would say, this whole takeover saga has been a total shambles. Any deal should have been completed long before the season end and having courted the dubious Thaksin Shinawatra, it just shows how desperate the City's board were to sell the club. There is talk of a 'plan B' which involves mystery US investors who are still interested in the club. However, given that the City board entered into talks with Shinawatra it must be assumed that the board had some doubts concerning these mystery men.

Then we come to the vacant manager's position, the word doing the rounds ever since Stuart Pearce was sacked was that City would appoint an overseas coach, now it seems that Mark Hughes and Chris Coleman have been the board's favourites all along. You could not make it up. I seriously doubt Hughes would entertain the job, so Coleman must be the new 'favourite'.

No doubting many punters will be lumping on City to go down next season - they must be among the bookies favourites for relegation.

  1. Well, if they have been really in a trouble here. I thought Thaksin would have bought the club up, he left and City is having their worst case scenario now...

Maybe next season is the last season for a Manchester derby match...
