Anderson transfer caught up in red tape...

Reports suggest that United will almost certainly have difficulty obtaining a work permit for the Brazilian as the Home Office will reject the Reds first application because the 19 year old hasn't played in 75% of Brazil's internationals over the last two years.

United will appeal against the ruling and it's likely they will then call upon expert witnesses as they did when they signed Park, on that occasion Guus Hiddink was called in, the Dutchman stated that Park would enhance the Premier League and Park was eventually granted a work permit.

It's likely that Carlos Quieroz and Porto coach Jesualdo Ferreira will present the Reds case on behalf of Anderson. The £17m transfer is subject to the player getting his work permit.
