According to the latest news on the transfer grapevine, United will move to sign Blackburn's former Arsenal youngster David Bentley if the Owen Hargreaves move breaks down. Now I have nothing against Bentley, but I do wonder if he's in the same class as Hargreaves - don't United have enough journeymen midfield stars already?
I'm hoping this story is part of some transfer sub-plot meaning that United have leaked this story to the press in a bid to push the Hargreaves deal through. If United have serious ambitions about winning titles and European Cups, then only the best will do, I'm not sure Bentley comes into this category regarding central midfield players.
